LJ, what's with the server issues? I'm having a DDoS attack déjà vu. Do not want! I think a lot of people are getting very fed up with the recurring accessibility issues, especially those who are paying good money to have an account here. Twenty-four plus hours to get the site back up and running is kinda borderline even in my book. And I still can't access it from my smartphone for whatever reason. I can understand why people are upset enough to quit using LJ and move over to other blogging sites. I'm not quite there yet, but I'd have to lie if I said the idea hadn't occurred to me.

Oh. My. God. This was so bad. Okay, not as bad as 2012 (the movie, not the year), but it came close. Please tell me, why did I pay 13 EUR for this crap?

Man, I had such high hopes for today. Guess that didn't turn out as planned. I decided to work from home today, because, really, I would have rather taken the day off (seeing how yesterday was a bank holiday). But T and H are already on vacation, and I'm their official backup, so I couldn't just scarper off. Line Manager wasn't too thrilled I wanted to work from home on a bridging day. But, come on, I got just as much done as I would have in the office, if not more. I even dialed into the frickin' telephone conference at 3. (Okay, five past 3.)

Far wrong. Because I'm now being called misogynistic and a Sara hater, based on the fact that I've posted a request of not including Sara in a story prompt over at

collarcorner . (I quote: "Characters: Neal, Peter, others of your choosing except Sara please") Did I post "Everyone but the red-haired Ellis bitch"? No. Because I don't think she's that. Did I post "I never want to see Sara in a fan fiction ever"? No. Because Sara Ellis and/or Neal/Sara fan fiction has a right to exist. Do I want to avoid having Sara in a story that I wish someone would write for me? Yes. Do I have that right? I'd like to think so, because it's not against the rules of the comm where I've requested this.

You guys remember when I was whining about having ordered the AVATAR limited edition a second time, and a second time it didn't arrive? Well, at least now I know why it hasn't arrived. And if it wasn't so hilarious, I'd be royally pissed off.

Inadvertently ignoring the alarm clock (which was set to 10:15) and sleeping until 1:30 PM is so not cool. Now I will never get my normal sleep rhythm back by the time I'm gonna have to go back to work. Epic failness squared!

Canceled flights = failsauce. Epically so. Because, yay, I get to spend another day in Raleigh. And we weren't even flying anywhere near where the snow chaos is. Our original flight to Atlanta was canceled due to technical problems with the plane. The later flight they booked us on was delayed, so we wouldn't have made the connecting flight to Germany.

I hate packing. With a passion!!! The suitcase is always too small. And the decisions what to take kill me every time. And I always take too much. But if I pack light, I'm always paranoid I don't have enough to wear. It's a vicious cycle. I just hate it.

Gah! Another one of life's epic fails, coupled with Murphy's Law. So for the first time in about a year (possibly more), I had the urge to get my guitar out of the corner behind the door (*blows layers of dust off the bag*), and what do I find? The D string has ripped. (And I mean, WTF? In the bag??) Of course I don't have a spare one and it's Sunday so I can't go anywhere to buy a new one. Maybe the universe is trying to tell me something.

So I guess instead of making my own music, I'm gonna have to leave you with some embeddeds.
