Gaaaaah!

I hate packing. With a passion!!! The suitcase is always too small. And the decisions what to take kill me every time. And I always take too much. But if I pack light, I'm always paranoid I don't have enough to wear. It's a vicious cycle. I just hate it.

I wanted to leave work early today. I really did. Didn't happen, though. Not by a long shot. It was 6:30 when I finally shut down the computer. There must have been some big accident/fire/cluster fuck on the way, because when I passed the first roundabout (I have three on the way), there were masses of fire trucks and/or ambulances with angry, blinking blue lights blocking the road. I forthwith turned the car around and took the long way round.

Finally home, it still took me until 9 PM to even start packing. So now it's 11:30 and I should be in bed. But now I'm all riled up and disheveled and... gaaaaah!! The taxi comes at 7:30 AM tomorrow. And I want to download the White Collar ep from tonight before I leave. Which means getting up around 6 AM or something equally uncool. I really should go to bed. Someone please kick me in the shins. Hard.

So, uhm, breathe. I just need to sit still for 10 seconds and breathe. And stop being paranoid about having forgotten to pack something vitally important. And just look forward to having a good time with the colleagues. *nods sanguinely* Yeah, okay, maybe I can do that.

See you on the other side of the pond, then. (Or tomorrow morning when I seek out Forging Bonds.)

PS: I won first place in the 2nd round of the [livejournal.com profile] wc_icontest. Can you hear a very timid yay?

YYYAAAAAYYYYY!!!! Way to go on the icon contest! :D

Now breathe and go to bed! You didn't forget anything, I'm sure. And I totally understand you, because I hate packing too. Normally I do it in 30 minutes and just before going to bed because I never know what to take and when I finally realize there's no way I can escape the fact that I need to pack... I do it in half an hour and normally either it's too much or less than it should *sigh*

And new White Collar today!!!! I hope you get it before you leave so that you can see it!

Now rest and have a great trip!

Is it bad that I liked my other icons I submitted better than those who won second and third and the other places? Hm, it probably is. I'm not narcissistic or anything. Just have a very specific taste in what I like visually, which obviously doesn't always align with what others like. But, hey, fair enough. Life would be boring otherwise, wouldn't it? It's still awesome and a great honor I made first place. \o/

I always pack at the last minute too. It's terrible. And I never learn. But I'm all showered now and ready to fall into bed.

YES! New episode!!! I really hope I can watch it on the plane tomorrow.

No, it's not bad. But it's like you say, we all have different tastes :D Besides you made them so you have your view of them and it's not narcisistic. They are you creations :))) Still, love your icons :DD

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! You will have that ep in your hand and ready to see on the plane!! *nods* Now go and have some rest so that you are wide awake to see "our boys" ;P

I was in bed when you posted this. That's probably progress. Though now it's 6:45 AM and I'm tired as hell. Oh well, there's always nap time on the plane. After I watch White Collar. *squee*

Congrats on winning the icontest!!!!

Congrats on the place, hon! Even if you don't seem all the enthusiastic about it.

And good luck on getting your mitts on Forging Bonds ASAP. :)

You know the trick about rolling your clothes right? If you roll, instead of fold, you can fit way more in your suitcase. Trust me. I can fit two pairs of boots, one pair of heels, three winter jackets, four scarves, and a hat all into one CARRY ON suitcase. You get good at packing when you're a professional background actor. I think the most I've ever been asked to bring is SIX changes and I fit all of that into a backpack.

When you watch the episode of White Collar keep an eye out for me in the FBI when the news report is on. I'm in a gray pantsuit and I go up the stairs then talk to a lady. I was in massive pain due to acid reflux but I think I hid it well. :) They cut our other scenes. :( Actually to be honest I don't really remember what we filmed that ep. It gets confused with what we filmed for the finale. But regardless, I'm briefly in this weeks ep in a gray pantsuit. Fun times. :)

Rolling your clothes? Hm, I've never tried that. Thanks for the hint! It's all packed now, so I'm not tearing that apart to roll up my stuff. But maybe for the way back. (How do you roll a blazer? I packed two. Almost forgot them, actually... Yikes!)

I was going to play "Spot The Lomer" in this ep because I knew you were in it. I will definitely keep an eye out. (And I'll probably nudge my colleague in the seat next to me, going, "Check this out, I've talked to this woman!") Boo on cutting your other scenes.

Are you in any more eps before the finale?

Rolling helps with wrinkles too. As for blazers, I just fold then in half and roll them up!

I'm in next week. I think I filmed four pedestrian scenes for it. I got to wear a really awesome designer dress at one point. It had mushrooms all over it! I really hope it makes it on camera because not only did Tim like the dress but I had strangers approach me from the street to say they loved the dress. This is New York. Strangers don't do that here. I'm also in the finale. I feel like there's another episode I filmed for, but honestly I don't remember.

Here's an article complete with pictures that highlights the rolling technique. I use this exact method to pack for set.

Okay, checking out the link you set. I'm sure that'll come in handy for the next time I travel. You learn new things every day!

Designer dress, yay! Will look out for that one too. Mushrooms? Do I want to know that particular story?

It was just one of their stock that they wanted to get on air. It was a really fun dress though. I tried to find it online, but all I could find was a similar one that Paris Hilton wore for $300.
