Neal had always wanted to go to San Francisco. He'd never figured, however, that when he finally did, it would be on the FBI's tab.

The flight was Economy, the hotel barely three stars. The anklet was still on, and Peter would be shadowing him the whole time. Still, it was more than Neal could have asked for, as long as he was on a 2-mile Manhattan-tethered leash.

Business trip or not, there was one thing Neal wanted to tick off the to-do list more than anything.

"Peter, come check this out."

Peter's expression didn't belie that he already knew Neal was up to something he was most likely not going to enjoy. The pamphlet Neal excitedly held up read Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris.

"Neal, we're not here for sightseeing or... cultural endeavors."

"Come on, Peter, this is the opportunity of a lifetime! See, even the brochure says so." He pointed at the words, 'The once-in-a-lifetime exhibition'.

"We have a job to do."

"Is that a no?"

"Yes."

"Please?"

"Neal..." Peter said warningly, and Neal knew with the right amount of verbal poking and prodding, he might just be able to sway the unwavering Peter Burke.

Hehe. Cute! ;D Oh Neal. As far as he's concerned, "No" just means "Maybe" and "Absolutely not" is just another way of saying, "Well, if you give me a really good reason..." Poor Peter. Might as well give in at the start, or you'll just spend the whole trip listening to him... and probably go in the end anyway. *bg*

Yep, Neal's vocabulary certainly is different from that of Peter. :o) And with Neal, things are never as black & white as they are with Peter either. Oh, and of course Neal will incessantly nag until Peter takes him. Which he eventually will. I mean, it's the opportunity of a lifetime after all.

Well, shucks, Peter, how can you say no to that? (That's rhetorical, BTW, Peter. You can't. You should totally know better than to try winning these sorts of arguments. ^^)

I just love Neal's irrepressible personality. He can be such a kid about things. (Yup--"no sense of consequences"--Mozzie always pegs it right. :D)

Peter indeed can't say no to that. And Neal knows it. I'll bet the first thing Neal did upon hearing they were going to San Francisco was hitting up the art gallery websites to check out what exhibitions they had on. :-P

Geez I can even see him making that pleading look :P And I agree with you, Neal would have gone look and see what exhibitions were in San Francisco the moment he found they were going there :D

Excellent little piece :)) Got me smiling in the bus
