I love the US version of Being Human and all, but...
Seriously, guys. The pregnancy thing? Too much of a stretch. Come on, we live in the 21st century. Nora and Josh should know better than to not use protection. And Josh? Just saying you didn't think your kind could have children -- that's not an excuse, not even close. Why would you think you've suddenly become sterile? Where is the indication that turning into a werewolf will have an influence on your reproductive system? It just doesn't make any sense.
Also, Aidan is growing on me. I didn't like his character in the beginning (probably partly Sam Witwer's fault, even though the guy can't be blamed for the way his face looks). Now I actually like Aidan. I wanna squish him and Josh into a group hug. In every episode.
But, geez, this show really knows how to push all my buttons. Could you have a show with a conglomeration of any more tortured characters? I'm totally loving it. Shame there's only two more episodes until the hiatus.
And this will be a huge spoiler for those among you who watch the UK incarnation of the show (so better not read on if you don't wanna be spoiled), but I heard last night from
anaithis that they killed off Mitchell. He's the vampire, in other words the original UK version of Aidan. I sure hope that Aidan doesn't suffer the same fate, but then again, Sam Witwer isn't scheduled for a marathon movie shoot adventure in New Zealand. Or at least not that I'm aware of.
A bit of a shocker, but they killed off two major characters on this week's episode (and I mean the US version): Marcus and Rebecca. Bishop's gone too, but I'm sure he'll resurface. Can I feel a change in the pace coming? I hope they don't mess this up.
Am I the only one who was a bit ticked off that neither Aidan nor Josh made it home at the end of the episode to realize what Danny did to Sally? I really wanted to see their reaction. They better not gloss over that in the next episode!
Also, what is the significance of the episode title? I know that "going Dutch" means splitting the check of a meal. What were they splitting in this episode? Bishop's Boston empire? Am I missing a hidden meaning here?
Useless but fun fact: The word Witwer in German means widower. Only it's pronounced vitva. Why am I even talking about him so much? Seriously, I like Sam Huntington a lot better. And that's not only because he was in Fanboys. I actually look at him every day. There's a Fanboys poster that features the whole cast on the wall next to my computer screen in my office. But only really because Chris Marquette is on it. Without a Wookiee mask. And because I have much love for that movie. But that another story for another time.
