This may be a shocking revelation to some, but supplies don't usually reorder themselves. So why is it always me who asks A to reorder coffee creamer or sugar or other kitchen supplies for the office? (And I don't even drink the coffee!) I mean, is it so hard to ask A to reorder new sugar when you open the last packet? You don't even have to order it yourself, for goodness' sake, A will do it for you. I'll bet the person not asking A to reorder will be the same person getting all whiny when they find the community kitchen entirely without sugar in a few days. Because, dammit, supplies don't reorder themselves! I have a suspicion this is also the same person who leaves the empty toilet rolls hanging on the dispenser when the new one is just an arm's length away, in plain sight. Freakin' egotists.

I had to send New Guy home. He was feeling miserable, and it showed. I mean, the poor man. Headache, back ache, chills, probably running a fever. Of course he didn't want to listen to me, so I had to get K1 to back me up. The combined forces of us finally made him see reason. I just hope the 20 minutes he spent in my office this morning wasn't enough to aspirate the bacteria or viruses in my direction. Because getting sick is, uhm, Do Not Want. I'm having a hard enough time with hay fever. Because, yay, birch pollen is starting to fly. Awesome! (Not.) J is also home sick with an upset stomach. Something must be going around.

The printer in my office is not working properly. It keeps jamming the paper when you print from the paper drawer. This morning it took five tries to finally get it to print. Bonus of this: Jimmy The Printer Guy will hopefully drop by and give the thing a good overhaul. I like Jimmy. He's cute and funny and handsome. (Married too, judging by the ring. *sigh*) I hope they don't send someone else, because Jimmy's kinda like my Diet Coke commercial guy (only not remotely as sexy, but I'm gonna take what I can get).

Steffi and I watched the X-Files movie yesterday. The first one, I mean (i.e. the good one). I had totally forgotten all the geeky little Mulder/Scully quotes that the online community was raving about. I mean, back then (OMG, more than 10 years ago? Really?!) I was such a big fan. I was quoting lines from the movie, making wallpapers, sound clips and all the fangirly stuff. (This was way before I had a DVD player and things like good quality screencaps were hard to come by.) And there were so many classic quotes and scenes in that movie. I had completely forgotten how good it was.

Steffi and I also had a good laugh over Jiffy Poppers (to which Mulder refers in the movie). The humor of this may be somewhat elusive to people in the US who grew up with this stuff, but I have never seen, let alone used a Jiffy Popper in my life. I'm sure we have microwavable popcorn over here too now, but since I've never been much of a popcorn kinda gal in the first place, I've never tried it. So Steffi dug up a video of a Jiffy Popper in action. Not the microwavable stuff, the original, old one that you had to heat on a stove. It was awesome. We laughed so hard, possible because it just seemed like such an absurd idea to even invent something like that in the first place. Can you believe it's been around since 1958?

Oh, by the way... Anyone here interested in Dan Fogler? My friend and co-webmaster Deb had the chance to grab him for an interview in December 2010. We finally got the article she wrote up fixed up for our website, including the audio interview. It's really sweet and funny, so I absolutely recommend that you check it out. Go to chris-marquette.com and click the link in the first news item (otherwise it won't display properly).

And that makes the fourth person who worked with Chris that we have managed to snag for an audio interview. (The other three were Chris himself, Becky Wahlstrom and Amber Tamblyn. Kyle Newman too, actually, but we never received the video footage of that interview from the guy who filmed us.) Quite amazing, actually. I mean, we're just a fansite without any press affiliation or official status. When does this ever happen? The Chris co-star I'd really like to interview is Sam Huntington. Judging from his tweets, he's a very smart, funny, quirky guy. Alas, I live on the wrong continent. Then again, stranger things have happened, so...

Addendum: Jimmy never showed. Instead I got stuck with Nerdy Guy. At least he was competent, so I guess I don't have any reason to complain. But, damn, I would rather have gotten competent and good-looking guy. Gnrmpf.
