Decompressing
Jan. 26th, 2011 09:14 pmJust a quick shout that I have made it to San Diego. I have now been awake for a solid 23 hours without even a minute of napping or dozing off. I am so tired to the point where I'm actually dizzy, and more than ready to fall into bed (probably to wake up again in, oh, 4 or so hours because my body thinks, "Yay, morning, get up sleepyhead!"). Shower first, though.
Also, after 15 hours on different planes, I need to decompress. Nice plus: My hotel room has a balcony. That you can actually set foot on. Which also means you can let fresh air into the room (and there's a screen door too to keep nasty 6 to 8-legged friends out). Not a given in a US hotel room. In fact, I'd say that probably 90% percent of all US hotels I've stayed in, the windows didn't even have a handle. And of the 10% that did, 80% or so still couldn't be opened. Which makes what? My brain can't seem to compute simple mathematical equations anymore (and it's probably not supposed to right now). I'm surprised I can still type and the things that come out sound halfways coherent.
Another plus: I got a lot of White Collar ficcing done on the plane(s). I haven't actually finished any of my WIPs, but I've continued pretty much all of them. I think there were four, but even single digit numbers don't compute right now. You will hopefully get to see them eventually. (And yay for both planes actually having power outlets!)
Last but not least, here be icon that won first place:

If I can still string sentences together after the shower, I might go and answer some LJ comments, but don't count on it. As for how much time I'm gonna have for anything other than business-related stuff in the coming days, I have no idea. Probably not much. So I might possibly become a little more quiet over the next week or so. Just a fair warning.
Added bonus: View from my hotel room balcony
