Elizabeth pulled the shirt out of the plastic bag and drew in a sharp breath. All this blood—there was such a lot of it. So much that she could smell the coppery odor.

And this was only Peter's shirt. She didn't want to imagine what Neal's shirt looked like. They had probably taken it off him in the hospital. Presumably discarded it right away. Or sent it to CSI for evidence collection.

The lump in her throat was back with a vengeance. She just couldn't fathom the idea of losing Neal. Please, dear God, let him live, she prayed.

Thanks! I'm a bit stuck on it because there's this huge, important dialogue that needs to happen, and it just feels so intimidating because I want to get it right. But I know I will get to it eventually, and then you can enjoy the full 5,000+ word story. Stay tuned. :o)

Don't worry, more will follow. Eventually. I'm still stuck with that story somehow, but I'm sure the creative juices will start flowing again eventually. And then you'll see the rest of the story. And what happened to poor Neal.
