Bomer rewatch: Flight Plan

Okay, I will admit it. I'm enamored with Matt Bomer ever since I discovered White Collar. Some might call it infatuation, some might call it fangirling. Whatever name it goes by, I'm enjoying the hell out of it. And, no, I'm not going to watch every single Matt Bomer project now. Just the ones that are easy to lay my hands on. Like... Flight Plan, for instance. (A friend of mine had the DVD and I borrowed it. See? Easy.)
First of all, I have to say that I already knew the movie's plot and how it was going to end. I saw it in the theater, back in the day. Of course I had no inkling of who Matt Bomer was then. But I very much like Jodie Foster, and I remembered that I liked the movie, so I didn't have any qualms about rewatching.
I wasn't disappointed either. It's a good movie. Lots of tension, and the acting is fantastic, especially on Jodie Foster's and Peter Sarsgaard's part. I think I enjoyed it more the first time around because with all the plot twists and mind games, it's not as much fun when you already know how it ends.
As to whether this would be a must-see for every Matt Bomer fan, uhm... nah. He barely has three lines and maybe a minute or two of screen time. I already knew this before I rewatched, so I wasn't disappointed at the lack of Bomerness. Plus, I wasn't really partial to the bangs-like hairstyle. Still, I had fun, playing Spot the Bomer. I watched the special features too (more out of curiosity about the actual movie), and Matt was only in them once, in a scene that's in the movie too. Nothing fangirl worthy there either. Which wasn't entirely unexpected because, come on, he's not even listed in the title credits.
And for all the Matt Bomer fans that are now curious, this would be my piece of advice: If the movie's premise doesn't speak to you, you're better off rewatching an old White Collar episode. Perhaps one from the DVD set that has Matt's commentary. (Which I hope is worth it because I don't have the DVDs yet.)
Last but not least, I'm gonna leave you with a scene from the movie script that involves Matt's character (Eric).

INT. AIRJET - MAIN DECK - REAR OF COACH CABIN - SAME In the very back of Coach we find two more Flight Attendants, ERIC and KATERINA, who stand at a thin staircase that leads up. Eric gestures, "Ladies first." INT. AIRJET - MAIN DECK - STAIRCASE OFF OF COACH - CONTINUING Six steep steps, straight up. Katerina begins to climb... which puts Eric directly beneath her skirt. ERIC (re: his view) A few more steps, Katerina, and the nature of this search is going to change in a fundamental way. KATERINA Don't be a dunce. He shrugs, unoffended.
