I want to write something coherent about yesterday's White Collar episode, but coherence fails me right now. But I will say this: It was the best fucking episode of the whole season. Not that that says a lot because I thought generally season 3.1 had a lot of bad episodes. Dismally bad episodes. So no huge accomplishment there, but still. Holy effin' crap.

This should make for a loooooot of angsty, h/c-y fan fiction over the next, oh, five months. Do want! *iz ekscitid*

I so agree in all points...

But don't mention fanfiction - I'm still trying to figure out what I should do with my fic now. Looks like I have to write it in hope that it somehow fit into season 3.5 and maybe adjust it later on...

Lol, I had the same initial reaction when I watched the episode, but now I'm veering between loving it and, well, not. Only White Collar could produce this kind of confusion!

I actually don't know what to make of this, but... *me haz fevah*... And I'm talking thermometer, pills and being so darn hot... it's kinda funny, considering how freakin' awesome that episode was... is WC eating my brain for good now?

I love it that you love that eppy *hugs*

Uh oh. Shall I write you a good fever fic? *wink* You sound very chipper for running a fever. When I have a fever, I always feel like I was plowed down by a 16-ton truck, raging headache and everything. But maybe brain-eating WhiCo obsessions help with that.

Just... stay away from me, will ya? ;o)

No, seriously, I really hope you get better soon. Being sick is never fun, not even with your favorite TV shows at your beck and call. *huggles* (with rubber gloves and face mask)

Yeah, don't I know it! I'm thinking about slightly rewriting my ficswap story. *sigh*

Okay, I liked it so much that I watched it again (after the season finale of Falling Skies), and I'm still loving it. Yay! I mean, of course I hate the cliffhanger, but it has so much potential. Eep.

I've got to say I didn't really like it. It just felt like a cheap cop-out.

I mean I liked that Neal has decided what he wants, but all that followed felt like a hollow "we desperately need suspense"-kinda thing.

I don't believe that Mozzie will really leave Neal and NYC behind, no matter what he says.
I don't believe that Neal will hesitate telling Peter everything about the treasure to help him getting El back -- even if he has to implicate Mozzie in doing so.

I don't know if TPTB really want me to believe this or not, but there was nothing in this episode that had me on the edge of my seat.

i weigh in with the "loveds," and between sleeping and keeping a check on my bp, I've watched it four times. Fics? I think I have pieces of 52, ha. Maybe I can find something to go with.

I haven't worked through the implications either. One big one, though, is that now Peter has verification from Keller that Neal has the treasure. In Peter's eyes, doubtless, Neal has done nothing but lie to his face all along. Since Keller has done his dastardly deed hoping to get the treasure, Peter will have every reason to turn on Neal as the ultimate source of all his trouble. In a lot of ways this was an anti-finale.

I really didn't think TP would go with the plot twist at the end, because it was so predictable. However, it was handled well--I guess. Peter's state of shock was shown perfectly. But if he'd just left the office, what was his whole team doing there ahead of him? Do I need to watch that part again?

No, you don't need to watch it again. I wondered about it too. How come agents are swarming the scene and Peter arrives after them? Who called them? Diana says something about a black van and a license plate. If someone saw something suspicious and called the police, why would FBI agents be at the scene before Peter? It doesn't want to make any sense. Unless Peter took a detour to somewhere where he had zero cell phone reception... (which doesn't really make sense either because he said he was going to be home soon).

My take on it was that Peter called his team from the car en-route (they really missed another Ford plug there), and they happened to get there first.

...And then Neal shows up in the doorway just as he's freaking out...

Sorry to hear you didn't like it. Since I didn't like most of this season, I'm hell-bent on not changing my mind about this episode. I certainly was at the edge of the seat pretty much the whole time during this one.

I didn't have the felling that Moz was leaving New York right away. He said, "See you around," when he left Neal's loft. I mean, it's just a platitude, but it still implies that he's not going to run right away. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part.

And I'm actually not sure Neal is really going to confess everything to Peter. Of course with El's life hanging in the mix, he's gonna want to divulge a lot more than he otherwise would, but I can't really see him go all out and snitch on Moz in the process. Wishful thinking again?

Okay, so let me get this straight. A neighbor saw something suspicious, called the police. The police call Peter, since we will assume that the neighbors know the Burkes and their occupation. Peter called the team from the car, and since they were all closer to Brooklyn than Peter (???) (and had their windbreakers and all the gear on them -- after hours - ???), they arrived there first. Peter also calls Neal because, hell, he needs someone there to blame.

Still doesn't sound all that plausible to me. Also, with everything that was going on, would Peter really call Neal right away, without even having been at the scene? I don't know... sounds fishy to me. But, hey, I'm liking this episode too much to not want to pick it apart. I'll just give them the benefit of the doubt and take it at face value.

I agree it's a stretch for creative purposes, but the way I interpreted it was that Peter was at the office late, after the call from Keller he immediately calls the team. The way I saw it was that Diana had called Neal, but maybe it was Peter. The whole sequence was supposed to be highly subjective and confusing because that's Peter's state of mind. It's more about the effect - walking into his home that is now a crime scene - than it is about strict realism. I agree it's a bit thin, and maybe if he had turned up alone that would have been more realistic, but would it have been as effective?

Someone voiced the theory that it's a dream sequence, but I so hope not. I hate them.

Perhaps the team was on a stake out near the house while Peter had to drive from the office?

They should be thrown out of the WC fandom pronto ;)

Yeah, they could have been near Brooklyn for a number of reasons, and I guess if you are FBI you would keep a windbreaker in your car for such emergencies??

2012 is faaaar away...

*happy whiskers*

I like this. I am purring with this. Hey, I have been in shock. Things are always distorted some way. The first time it happened, it was a lot like the sequence in this show, and I couldn't pin down what happened when.

Since then it's become more or less routine (witness Tuesday of this week), I know what's happening, and I compensate by becoming ultra-logical and detached. It's just another kind of distortion, but it works better in emergencies.

Anyway, yes, purr. I wasn't trying to cause problems. I wanted somebody to show me it was okay, and people did.
