Slip of the tongue

How do you know your brain has totally been taken over by White Collar? One sure indication might possibly be that you hold a presentation in front of a group of 40 people and you say 'FBI' instead of 'FDA'. Major oops. I did correct myself, though.

Also, I wish I could say Barcelona was beautiful, but since I haven't seen any of it but the airport and the hotel, it's kinda hard to judge. However... yay for high-rise hotels! I have a room on the 27th floor with an awesome view of the beach and the city. Now I wish I had a few hours to spare to look at any of that more closely. The weather's been pretty sucky so far. At least it was this morning. Since the meeting room doesn't have windows and I've not seen daylight all day, who knows what it's like right now?

What also sucks is that internet access in the rooms costs 25 EUR per 24 hours. We have free access in the meeting room area, but that's downstairs (and not very cozy). What happened to complimentary internet access in sinfully expensive 5-star hotels?!

Also, is it bad that I'm totally not impressed by this hotel? I mean, it's a 5-star. It's pretty darn fancy. It has free sewing kits and slippers and handwash detergent, toothbrush kits, ironing boards, three showerhead walk-in showers and shit. I think I've stayed in too many of these in recent years. And I'm usually not even someone who needs fancy accomodation. I've stayed in dinky youth hostels in the UK and enjoyed it. But I think that has to do with the fact that I'm not here wholly voluntarily. If I was on vacation and paying for this myself, it'd be a totally different picture.

K2 and I did a little pajama party last night and watched the "Power Play" episode together in my hotel room. (She hadn't seen it yet either.) That was fun! We squeed and chuckled in all the right places. I have more to say about this episode, but just this so far: Methinks Neal was enjoying being Peter Burke a little too much. :o) Man, I hope things will slow down a little when I get back from this meeting because I seriously need to transform my thoughts about the two latest episodes into more coherent bloggy words that form more than two sentences.

And, boy, is next week's episode going to be a doozy! Not that I know anything about it, I just get that feeling from the vague things different people have been alluding to. I'll bet that we'll find out what the fractal antenna leads to that Mozzie's been building. And somehow, very very unsettlingly, I have this nagging feeling that Kate is not dead. I think it was this conversation Neal had with Mozzie where he told him he was moving on but that Kate would always been a part of him. And if that happens, the Eastin man would have to come up with a genius miracle plot twist for me to end up liking it. So let's just see what happens.

Also, can I just say... with this whole Gerhard Wagner/Christopher Hunter/Nazi kind of thing, please, please, please don't use an American actor posing as a German with a bad accent that doesn't sound German at all. It's one of my pet peeves, when they try to lead us to believe someone's German when what they speak may sound like German to someone who doesn't know the language but doesn't sound authentic at all to someone who does. I'm gonna be so mad at the casting director if that happens.

Hm, looks like I'm gonna be thrown out of this meeting room before long, so I better get my butt up to my hotel room. Business dinner in an hour. Grmpf. Small talk, smile, eat fancy food, engage in meaningless conversation, repeat. Yeah, thank you. Do not want.

Darn, there was something else I wanted to write, but then I got distracted and now the thought's gone. I get easily distrac--oh look! Clean-up crew came in. Okay, we'll table that thought, then.
