Vacation, '127 Hours' and Icons
First of all, this is a goodbye post of sorts. Well, a temporary goodbye post, kinda like an AWL thing (absent with leave). Because I'm going on vacation for a week tomorrow, and I'm not taking my laptop. That means seven whole days without computer or internet. I can't think of the last time when that happened. Is that sad? There should be enough distraction in Turkey to not miss it too much, though. And I can always write fan fiction with good old pen and paper.
So, yeah, Turkey. Not a vacation spot I'd normally pick, but it was something that Mom asked me to join her for, and since it's been ages since I've been on vacation with the parents (or one of them, in this case--my dad isn't into this kind of thing at all), I thought it'd be a nice opportunity for some quality parent time. There's other friends of my mom's coming with us, and one of them is taking her daughter as well (whom I both know). I'm sure the both of us will lower the median age by at least 10 years... I am (of course) taking my SLR camera, so expect lots of photos upon my return.
On another note... I might have posted these previously, but I don't think I have. I made it into the top three for some of the recent icon challenges I entered. So here's some good old boasting for you.

And, I mean, wow. The Neal icon for the
wc_icontest won in two categories (okay, one win, one 3rd place). How did that happen? I'm honored! There's other White Collar icon challenges ongoing where I've entered, but those are still in voting or in the submission phase. This icon making is surely turning into another addiction. Yeah, like I need more of those... *sigh*
I should also mention that I watched '127 Hours' in the theater last night. What an intense movie! But in a good way. At first I thought: How can they make a 90 minute movie about a guy trapped in a crevice for 127 hours, but it totally worked. It's one of those movies with a lasting aftertaste, and I love it when that happens. Usually means the movie was good. And by the time it had ended, I was so tense that I noticed my hands were literally shaking when I got to the car. James Franco did a fantastic job. I hope he gets an Oscar for this one.
So... I should get going. Because I need to pack again. And most of you will know how much I hate doing that. Hmpf.
