Summary: The idea has occurred to Neal that they could do the "right thing": find the owners of the treasure and give it back.
Author's Note: I think the intent of this prompt was actually the object of a watch (as in the timekeeper you wear on your wrist), but I decided to rather go with the verb.

It's past midnight, and Neal knows he should be in bed. Yet, he's sitting, watching what they had dubbed the 'Treasure Cam'.
It would be so easy to choose that new alias, forge that passport, pack up and leave. Yet, it would be so hard. Has he had second thoughts? Of course. More than Mozzie should ever know.
His eyes glide over the wooden boxes that spell, 'Achtung zerbrechlich', over the colorful swirls of the Klimt, over the green medley of the Cézanne. Were they ready to sell all this? Was he ready for a life on the run, a life of constantly looking over his shoulder, of moving from one city to the next?
Yes, there is the manifest, so that question is moot now. But it won't be forever. And then?
The idea has occurred to Neal that they could do the "right thing": find the owners of the treasure and give it back. Mozzie would throw a hissy fit if Neal ever suggested it. Neal almost had. And the idea is taking more shape, the longer he watches the webcam. Maybe he'd suggest it to Mozzie all the same—and then see how that would go down.
