Against popular belief, I do have a real life...

... and it's been keeping me real busy lately. Which I consider a good thing. I don't even know where to start. I was talking about that new TV I was going to buy, right? Well I have! And it's awesome! It's an LG, more precisely the 42LH9000. So, yeah, 42 inches (which translates to 107 cm). It's huge. But that's great, finally a real home theater experience in my living room. Of course the normal TV picture looks kinda crappy, but do I care? No, because I haven't been watching any German TV for years.

I'm still looking for a new dining table, but it's not that that's real urgent. I did find a nice cupboard to go with my new TV, and I still need to get used to the slightly different look of my living room.

I also took my bike out for a spin today. A friend invited me on a bike tour to Cologne, and it was really nice. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. Now my butt is a little sore, but that's a small price to pay for such a lovely day.

Yesterday I went to a friend's house to fix up her computer, which she hadn't been able to connect to the internet for weeks. It took a bit of fiddling, but I finally managed to find the culprit (bad idea to install Avira Antivir and Norton Internet Security at the same time). And now she's back online. Best thing about the trip there were the cute and cuddly little Norwegian Forest Cat kittens! Awww! I wish I could have taken one home. They were just a month old, and cute as a button. Three little 'uns, a girl and two boys. The grown-ups look beautiful too.

I also have something to say about the FlashForward finale, which I've finally watched earlier this week. I have to admit that I had been dreading it just a little bit, because I already knew it was gonna be a cliffhanger. And I was pretty sure that I'd hate it for leaving us dangling. However, when I finally did watch it, I was pleasantly surprised. Of course it ended in that cliffhanger, but it wasn't one where you're left sitting there, open-mouthed. It was more of one where you're curious what that was about, but that you can live with if it's not being resolved.

What worried me most was that I almost expected them to finish off with a bang where you don't know anything. Like cutting the show off before we know whether Marc was going to be shot in his office, whether Bryce was ever going to meet Keiko or whether Dem and Janis would be able to keep Simon from executing his malicious little plan. I was very pleased that that didn't happen and that they managed to get all the important character-based arcs resolved. Of course it's a darn shame that the show won't get a second season, but at least it didn't end on a disappointing note. There are efforts underway online to save the show (possibly by getting another channel to pick it up), but truthfully? I don't think they stand a chance. Still, I'm secretly crossing fingers. I actually ordered the novel that the show is based on. Let's hope it's as interesting as the TV series.

So, what new shows am I gonna check out next season? I guess I'll have to wait for announcements of what all the stations are going to offer, but I've already identified a good candidate, mainly because Jason Ritter is in it (but also because it sounds intriguing): The Event Let's hope there's more to come to replace Trauma, FlashForward, Cold Case and Numb3rs.
